Germany : up to 82 people were injured by lightning strikes in music festival

German music festival cancelled by local authorities on Sunday due to heavy storms in which up to 82 people were injured by lightning strikes according to www.smh.com

The problems getting the second day of the Rock am Ring show running were part of the havoc in Germany from a week of extreme weather that has left parts of southern Germany under water, causing an estimated 1 billion euros ($A1.54 billion) of damage.

The concert, which had drawn some 90,000 visitors, had resumed for a few hours on Saturday evening, with Californian rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers taking to the stage.
